I read this blog and decided that I wanted Danielle to interview me and these are the questions she came up with for me:
1. When do you feel most powerful?
This is a really good one and is really making me think. I would say after a good yoga class, hooping session, psych exam, hike in nature, etc. Which is making me realize that I need more of these things in my life.
2. When do you sell yourself short?
I think I do this way too often to be honest. Like almost in everything I do…I rarely think I am good enough to actually be doing anything I am doing. I often feel as though I have somehow fooled everyone. But I am getting better…like I know I deserve to be at Berkeley even though I am surrounded by geniuses…I know I have something to offer, I am just not quite sure what yet.
3. How do you like someone to show you their appreciation of you?
I like it when someone just tells me or writes to me about it. When someone just opens their heart up and shows me their true feelings, that means more than anything.
4. What 3 books have rocked your world?
1. Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley: a book that should be read by women everywhere…a book about the women behind King Arthur and about Paganism and Christianty…I connected with my true inner goddess reading that book and it’s what of the only ones I have read multiple times. I almost got a crescent moon tattoo on my forehead after reading it…sheesh!
2. Wishcraft by Barbara Sher and Annie Gottlieb: this book breaks down your goals into bite size pieces and makes them easier to achieve…this is the book that helped me finally move to L.A. to pursue my acting career.
3. The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield: I read this book many years ago but it changed my view of the world…this is the first book that made me realize what the energy I had been seeing and feeling all around me really was about…it opened my up to so many more spiritual experiences.
It’s interesting that all these books are ones that I read years and years ago…and they still resonate with me. Maybe they were at life-changing times, or maybe they were life-changing…
*I have to say that that the Style Statement by Danielle LaPorte and Carrie McCarthy is definitely on this list, but I am saving it for a later blog.
5. How do you feel about tomorrow?
Like actual tomorrow? Or like the tomorrow of the future? Well I would say that I am looking forward to actual tomorrow because it will be all my first discussion sections for my many Psych classes. Plus I also have HoopGirl Allstar rehearsal which is always a good time. As for the tomorrow of the future, I am pretty damn excited. I mean, I am nervous as all get out about grad school and figuring out what the hell I am going to do with my life and will I always be broke, a tiny bit overweight, a little cyclothymic, etc…but we all have fears like that, so what’s new? I feel as though my life has unfolded pretty well thus far, and I am excited to see where it will take me next. I am just going with the flow with nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile.
